Cough that is hard to shake off

As the seasons change, the sound of coughing can be like a symphony. If it's a young child or an elderly person, it can be even harder to "get rid of." Changes in temperature irritate the throat and trachea, which then causes coughing.

Coughing caused by a common cold usually resolves within two to three weeks. If a cough persists, it can easily develop into chronic bronchitis cough, which is then even harder to cure.

If a persistent cough with excessive phlegm doesn't clear up, you can use 10g of Flos Farfarae and 20g of lily bulb. Wash them and put them in a thermos, then add hot water and steep for 20 minutes before drinking. This tea has the effects of clearing heat and moistening the lungs, relieving cough and reducing phlegm, and tonifying the middle and benefiting qi. It is especially suitable for coughs in autumn and winter, and persistent coughs. Young children can also drink it.

Flos Farfarae is warm in nature, pungent and slightly bitter in taste, and enters the lung meridian. It belongs to the Asteraceae family and looks like small chrysanthemums. It can moisten the lungs and descend qi, resolve phlegm and relieve cough, and is often used for prolonged coughs, asthmatic coughs with excessive phlegm, etc. It has antitussive, expectorant, and antiasthmatic effects, and is commonly found in over-the-counter Chuanbei Pipa Gao. Lily bulb is slightly cold in nature, sweet in taste, and enters the lung and heart meridians. It can disperse lung qi and nourish yin, clear the heart and calm the mind, and is effective in relieving bronchitis cough.

In addition to tea therapy, you should also avoid eating sweet, sour, and cold foods. Wishing everyone good health.
