I'm not lazy, I'm qi deficient.

"You shouldn't be so lazy all the time!"

My friend complained to me, constantly grumbling about her husband, saying he was unwilling to do anything, lacked motivation, and didn't even want to go out on weekends. I suggested he see a Chinese medicine doctor; he might not be lazy but rather suffering from qi deficiency.

Lazy people often have things to do but procrastinate, yet they can be energized by things they are interested in, and sufficient rest can completely relieve fatigue. People with qi deficiency lack motivation, don't even want to talk, and their personalities easily become negative, finding it hard to get excited about anything.

Individuals with a qi-deficient constitution can be born with it, or it can be caused by excessive physical exertion, illness, or old age. It results from diminished visceral function and insufficient vital energy, leading to weak breath.

Physically, they may lack muscle, often feel fatigued and weak, speak in a faint voice, have short breaths, and easily experience spontaneous sweating. Their immunity is lower, making them prone to catching colds, and they take longer to recover after an illness.

According to your constitution, you can brew and drink a "three ginseng qi-tonifying tea" which can help improve qi deficiency:

1. Ginseng is sweet, slightly bitter, and slightly warm in nature. It enters the heart, lung, and spleen meridians. It can greatly replenish vital energy, tonify the spleen and benefit the lungs, promote fluid production, and calm the mind. It is suitable for those with a cold-deficient constitution and low blood pressure.

2. American ginseng is sweet, slightly bitter, and cold in nature. It enters the heart, lung, and kidney meridians. It nourishes qi and yin, clears heat, and promotes fluid production. It is suitable for those with a dry-heat constitution.

3. Codonopsis is sweet and neutral in nature. It enters the spleen and lung meridians. It invigorates qi, promotes fluid production, and nourishes blood. It is suitable for people with a general constitution.
