The Vanished New Year's Eve

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the Year of the Tiger. I wish everyone progress in the new year, to be full of vitality, in good health, and to have great fortune. This year, there's no Lunar New Year fair, nor evening dine-in services. The streets are sparsely populated, lacking the festive atmosphere, even on New Year's Eve. The Lunar calendar is calculated based on the cycle of the moon's phases. The moon has its waxing and waning, and it takes about 29 and a half days for the sun and moon to align at the same celestial longitude, which is called the new moon, or the first day of the month. Coincidentally, this month is a 'small month', hence there is no 30th day of the month. I believe everyone is busy preparing for the New Year arriving tomorrow. As always, my son and I wrote spring couplets and decorated our home to add to the festive atmosphere. This year, in addition to giving out red packets, I'll also follow the trend and try sending eco-friendly e-red packets for the first time, hoping to send blessings even from a distance. If relatives or friends visit, besides festive food and the candy box, it's customary to offer tea. I suggest simply brewing a pot of Chrysanthemum and Goji Berry Tea. For those who prefer a sweet taste, rock sugar can be added. This tea is good for clearing the liver and improving eyesight, suitable for all ages, and particularly recommended for spring. It has a delicate fragrance, and the blooming chrysanthemums paired with red goji berries are aesthetically pleasing, simple yet elegant. Chrysanthemum has a sweet and bitter taste, is slightly cold in nature, and acts on the lung and liver meridians. It can dispel wind, clear heat, detoxify, reduce swelling, clear the liver, and improve eyesight, as well as calm hyperactivity of the liver yang. Goji berries have a sweet taste, are neutral in nature, and act on the liver and kidney meridians. They can nourish the liver and improve eyesight, tonify the liver and kidneys, moisten the lungs, replenish qi, and benefit essence and blood, improve eyesight, and prevent blurred vision and decline.
