Acne Face Map

Last week, we discussed how easy it is to have "acne breakouts" when the seasons change. Besides these sudden pimples, many people are bothered by acne in specific areas. The "Huangdi Neijing" (Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine) states: "What manifests within, will manifest externally," meaning that physical ailments will show through symptoms on the body's surface. Different internal organs have different reflex zones, so the location of acne on the face can generally reflect the health status of the body's five zang organs and six fu organs.

Forehead: Governed by the heart. Acne on the forehead reflects high stress, excessive heart fire, and insufficient sleep. You can brew lotus plumule tea, which helps nourish the heart and mind, clear heart fire, and improve insomnia. Note that lotus plumule is cold in nature, so those with a cold constitution should consume it with caution.

Nose tip: Reflects excessive stomach fire or digestive system dysfunction. You can drink barley tea, which helps strengthen the spleen and stomach.

Left cheek: Belongs to the liver. Often caused by staying up late, drinking alcohol, etc., leading to liver dysfunction. You can brew chrysanthemum and goji berry tea, which helps strengthen liver function and enhance the liver's detoxification ability.

Right cheek: Belongs to the lungs. Attention should be paid to the respiratory system, ensuring good ventilation. You can also strengthen lung function and promote metabolism through aerobic exercise. Lily flower tea, which enters the lung meridian, helps reduce lung heat, moisten the lungs, and improve lung function.

Chin: Indicates weaker kidney function or endocrine imbalance, especially for women with irregular menstruation. You can drink rose tea to regulate menstruation and promote blood circulation.

Note that in addition to deducing physical conditions based on the location of facial acne, it is also important to treat the underlying causes according to different body constitutions. Eliminating excess toxins from the relevant zang-fu organs will naturally address the root cause and prevent frequent acne breakouts.
