Bruise
Home accidents are truly unavoidable. A few days ago, while preparing dinner, a glass cutting board accidentally fell out of the cabinet, injuring the back of my foot. Besides bleeding, about one-third of the back of my foot was bruised.
I believe no one is unfamiliar with bruises. After the skin encounters a collision and pressure, the superficial capillaries are damaged, and blood leaks out. Platelets will block the damaged area of the blood vessels to help repair, and the leaked blood accumulates under the epidermis, forming the common purple-blue bruises. This is why initial bumps only show redness and swelling, and bruises appear a day or two later.
Immediately after an injury, cold compresses should be applied to constrict blood vessels and slow down blood leakage. After one to two days, switch to hot compresses to accelerate the dispersion of the blood clots under the skin.
After an injury, when purple-blue bruises appear on the skin, it is recommended to use 5 grams of safflower and 10 grams of peach kernel. Wash the ingredients, crush the peach kernels to enhance flavor, put them into a thermos cup, add hot water, and steep for 15 minutes before drinking. This tea helps to invigorate blood and dispel blood stasis. Note: Pregnant women and those during menstruation should not drink this tea.
Safflower, with a pungent taste and warm nature, acts on the heart and liver meridians. It can invigorate blood, unblock menstruation, dispel stasis, and relieve pain, helping women regulate dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, or postpartum abdominal pain due to blood stasis.
Peach kernel, with a bitter yet slightly sweet taste and neutral nature, acts on the heart, liver, and large intestine meridians. It can invigorate blood and dispel blood stasis, as well as moisten the intestines and promote bowel movements. Peach kernels and apricot kernels look similar, but their effects are different; apricot kernels are mainly used to relieve cough and asthma, while peach kernels invigorate blood and dispel blood stasis.
For women experiencing blood clots during menstruation or dysmenorrhea with amenorrhea, this tea can also be consumed a week before menstruation to help invigorate blood and dispel blood stasis, nourish blood, regulate menstruation, and improve dysmenorrhea caused by blood stasis obstruction.
