Mangzhong is a good time to hydrate and clear heat.

Today marks Mangzhong, the ninth of the 24 solar terms, signifying the time when rice with awns is ready for planting and cultivation. During this period, the weather tends to be muggy and humid, with rising temperatures and increased rainfall. The yang energy of nature reaches its peak, and the body's metabolism is also at its most vigorous. If the body's moisture cannot be timely transported and dispelled, it can lead to "dampness trapping," causing fatigue and lethargy, and even muscle aches in the limbs.

The focus of health preservation is on dispelling heat, clearing the mind, and reducing internal fire. It's important to pay attention to the balance of yin and yang in the body, regulate the five zang and six fu organs, strengthen the physique, and maintain smooth qi and blood circulation, so that toxins can be effectively expelled. Besides physical effects, overheating can also affect one's mood, leading to irritability, anxiety, insomnia, and in some cases, symptoms of depression.

It is recommended to drink more Jasmine Mulberry Heat-Clearing Tea. Simply steep 2 grams of mulberry leaves and 2 grams of jasmine flowers in hot water for 5 minutes and it's ready to drink.

This tea can clear the mind and reduce internal fire, dispel heat and excessive yang, and calm liver yang, helping to regulate the body's balance during the hot summer, promote the dissipation of excess body heat, and reduce summer discomfort.

Mulberry leaves are sweet in taste, cold in nature, and enter the lung and liver meridians. They can calm liver yang, dispel wind and clear heat, and relieve coughs caused by lung dryness and heat.

Jasmine flowers are pungent and sweet in taste, warm in nature, and enter the liver, spleen, and stomach meridians. They can refresh the mind, calm the nerves and benefit qi, clear the liver and improve vision, and clear heat and detoxify.

As Mangzhong arrives, the weather becomes increasingly hot, and physical exertion increases. It's essential to replenish fluids, avoid strenuous exercise, and maintain a calm state of mind.
