Night owl turns farmer

In a few days, the summer vacation will officially end, and my son will be starting primary one. I'm both excited and nervous. I believe many parents are like me, with many back-to-school supplies to prepare, such as school uniforms, textbooks, school bags, student photos, stationery, etc. But the biggest challenge is definitely the children's daily routine!

It's not easy to go from a night owl lifestyle back to a farmer's schedule of early nights and early mornings. Suddenly changing sleep patterns can easily lead to a weakened immune system and subsequent illness if the child cannot adapt. Therefore, starting last week, I began helping my son adjust his body clock. Every night, he goes to bed 15 minutes earlier, and in the morning, he wakes up 15 minutes earlier, gradually adjusting his routine with ease.

For those with weak constitutions, changing sleep patterns can easily lead to illness. It is recommended to brew astragalus and honey tea to enhance the body's resistance and prevent colds. Use 3 to 5 slices of astragalus, steep in hot water for 15 minutes, and after it has cooled slightly, add a tablespoon of honey to drink. This tea helps improve physical constitution and is particularly effective for those with low energy and easy fatigue.

Astragalus is sweet in taste and warm in nature, and it enters the lung and spleen meridians. It can tonify qi and consolidate the exterior, improving qi deficiency and fatigue. It also contains polysaccharides, various amino acids, trace elements, and folic acid, which can strengthen the body, enhance immunity, and invigorate qi and raise yang, making it particularly beneficial for those prone to colds and with weak constitutions. However, it should be noted that pregnant women, individuals with high blood pressure, or those feeling unwell should not consume it.
