It's better to sleep well than to sleep early.

Are you a night owl? Do you suffer from insomnia? If so, you need to pay attention to this article.

I've always been an anxious person. Although I've never felt under much pressure, my body tells a different story. As a child, I would grind my teeth in my sleep whenever there was a test or dictation. When I was writing my graduation thesis in university, the teeth grinding continued, and with my busy schedule, I slept even less.

As a child, I didn't want to sleep; as an adult, I didn't get enough sleep; and in old age, I couldn't sleep. A good night's sleep is a blessing. I'm used to going to bed early, but my sleep quality is poor, and I often wake up in the middle of the night. I've tried taking sleeping pills to help me fall asleep, but chemicals are harmful to the body and can lead to dependence, only treating the symptoms, not the root cause.

After learning about tea therapy, when I suffer from insomnia, I choose herbal tea to soothe my emotions, especially with the addition of Ziziphus Jujuba seed. "Compendium of Materia Medica" records: "Ziziphus Jujuba seed, when cooked, treats insomnia caused by gallbladder deficiency, restlessness, thirst, and night sweats; when raw, it treats sleepiness caused by gallbladder heat." Ziziphus Jujuba seed can nourish the heart and calm the mind, especially suitable for people with insomnia, easy waking, or frequent dreams caused by vexation. I love to pair it with chamomile and lavender for their sweet aroma, which can further calm emotions and relax the mind.

Tea therapy is not medicine; it can only serve as an auxiliary. If you have long-term insomnia, it's best to consult a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner for early treatment and the right medication.
