Seasonal Jujube Tea

This week, the "Shuangjiang" (Frost's Descent) solar term will begin, and the Observatory forecasts temperatures to drop to 21 degrees Celsius. In such changeable and suddenly cold weather, it's very easy to catch a cold and cough if you're not careful. This is especially true given the large temperature difference between morning and evening, and the drop in relative humidity, which can irritate the respiratory tract and cause coughing when inhaling cold air.

To combat coughs caused by seasonal bronchial sensitivity, you can use 3 red dates, 3 black dates, and 1 candied date. Wash and cut all ingredients, remove the pits from the red dates, and put them into a thermos with hot water to steep for 20 minutes before drinking.

This tea is suitable for all ages. It not only nourishes qi and enriches blood but also helps relieve sensitive coughs caused by changes in weather.

However, it should be noted that candied dates are made with refined white sugar and have a higher sugar content. Diabetics are advised to use dates or figs as a substitute.

Red dates are sweet in taste and warm in nature; they enter the spleen and stomach meridians; they can invigorate qi, nourish blood, and calm the mind. However, red date pits are rather heaty and can easily cause internal heat, so it is recommended to remove the pits before consumption.

Black dates are sweet in taste and warm in nature; they enter the spleen and stomach meridians; they can enrich blood and beautify the complexion, nourish the spleen and stomach, moisten the heart and nourish the lungs, stop coughs and relieve asthma, tonify the five organs, and treat deficiency and damage.

Candied dates are sweet in taste and neutral in nature; they enter the spleen and stomach meridians; they can invigorate the spleen and stomach, moisten the lungs and eliminate phlegm, nourish yin blood, and calm the heart and mind.

As the saying goes, "Eat three dates a day, and you won't look old at a hundred." Many women also suffer from cold hands and feet and pale complexions. It is recommended that after each menstrual period, they drink Sanzao Tea for 5 days, which helps regulate menstruation, activate blood circulation, replenish and nourish blood, and delay aging.
